Last Thursday night, Country Magic Band founder Bill McGarrity got a call from the owner of some bar way out in the middle of Texas. The guy on the other end starts talking to Bill like he knew him or something. Then he says, "Well, I just wanted to check in with you to make sure you guys are ready for the gig this weekend. Is everything OK on your end?" Bill says, "Uhhmm, I think maybe you've got the wrong number." Guy says, "Well, aren't you in Country Magic?" Bill goes, "Yep, but we're in Mississippi!" Dude then says, "So you guys better get a move on if you're going to make it here for tomorrow night!" Luckily, Bill finally convinced the guy that this was a classic case of mistaken identity. They both had a good laugh about it then said goodbye. And yes, there is another 'Country Magic' out in Texas, better known as 'Bill Bertrand & Country Magic'. Still trying to find their website, I'll post it when I find it.

We had a great time last night at Club 43 in Canton. Danny and Sandy have a great place to party and we had a ball. And thanks to their soundman Ronnie, we were sounding good too. I want to invite all are friends to come on out to Club 43 tonight (Sat. April 14). Sure hope ya'll can make it, here are some directions. Going South on I-55, take the Hwy 16 exit to Canton. Just follow the Hwy 16 signs all the way through Canton to the Hwy 43 junction, then go right. The club is 6-8 miles on the left with a big lighted sign with Club 43 and our name on it. Come on with it!

Hey Folks,

Last night at Partners was great. It was a pretty fair crowd and we even got some of them up to sing with us. We played a whole bunch of stuff that was different, even a few that were new (to us). Want to thank the ladies from TX that were down for Buddy Ross's funeral, they sure were sending him out with a BANG! Hope everyone made it home safe, I know we did... with all four wheels and all 20 lug nuts! Come on out Saturday night for another packed house at the Party House of the South, Partners with Country Magic!!

New T-Shirt available!

I was playing around with this 'HDTV' idea for the website and came up with a new design for a t-shirt. So I had a few made for me, Barb, and Granny to wear last Sat. night. Well, by the end of the night Granny had sold 11 shirts, so I guess we should make them available to anybody else that might want one. They'll only be around for a short time, so if you'd like one please go to the TCMB Store to order one. Or better yet... catch us this weekend at Partner's and holler at Granny, she'll fix you up!

Sorry you haven't heard from us in a while, but it's Summer. Everybody is going in opposite directions and it's hard to sit down at the computer for more than 5 minutes.

Last weekend I went out to North Carolina with David Griffin and visited Tbone. It was fun, lots of nice scenery. We played an outdoor thing just over the State line in Georgia Saturday afternoon. Here's a link to the pictures I took. http://www.rstweb.com/NC-Trip/

Remember that we invite everyone out on Friday nights for our Partner's Idol (non)competition. Get onstage and sing one with the band, if you dare!! If we're impressed enough, we will award you the honorary title of "Partner's Idol" for the week. Well, I can say without a doubt that New Year's 2006 at Partners was fantastic! There were more people there than I have ever seen! The place was already packed when we arrived at 8:00. There were cars parked all the way out to the highway and the back lot was filling up, too. The dance floor was full from the first song to the very last one. We really got into it with the crowd and played our hearts out. I hope everyone there had as much fun as we did.

What a great weekend at Partners Nov. 18-19. Friday night's open mic event is turning into something good. We had several talented folks give it a try and they were great. Sat. night was Granny's birthday and it was a blast! It was one of the biggest crowds at Partners that I can remember.
